Trex Corp Inc., founded in 1996 by Mark Melnick—official Kobe Beef Commissioner in the U.S.—was one of the first companies to import Japanese Wagyu into America. Mark helped shape the U.S. market for premium beef, and under the leadership of current President Hiro Sugano, who won the World Kobe Beef Auction in both 2024 and 2025, Trex has scaled to new heights. Our business is built on trust, long-term relationships, and customer-focused service. With two core divisions—Export and Import—we offer premium North American meats to over a dozen countries and import the finest Wagyu from Japan and Australia.
