Sandalwood Wagyu

Sandalwood Feedlot, Eastern Australia

  • Sandalwood Sustainable Wagyu is the next evolution of premium Australian Wagyu — built on award-winning L'grow genetics trusted by Michelin-starred kitchens worldwide and purposefully raised for a more sustainable future. Launching in 2026, Sandalwood extends the same rigorous production standards and legacy that earned L'grow Wagyu multiple Gold Medals and a Champion title at the World Branded Beef Competition. The WBBC is Australia's most prestigious wagyu competition, where the country's top producers go head-to-head to crown the finest wagyu in the nation, much like the legendary Wagyu Olympics in Japan.

  • Our cattle are finished at the historic Sandalwood feedlot in Queensland's renowned Darling Downs, one of Australia's most productive agricultural regions. A defining point of difference in our feed program is homegrown corn silage — the whole corn plant, freshly chopped and fermented into a moist, nutrient-dense forage. In Australia's hot, dry climate, corn silage is both costly and difficult to produce, but the payoff is measurable: superior intramuscular fat development, deeper flavor complexity, and animal wellbeing that results in consistency your kitchen can rely on, season after season.

  • At the heart of the Sandalwood program is our landmark partnership with CH4 Global. Every animal is fed Methane Tamer™, a natural feed additive derived from Asparagopsis seaweed — one of the most significant and scientifically validated breakthroughs in sustainable beef production today. Extensively tested at commercial scale, Asparagopsis reduces enteric methane emissions from feedlot cattle by 75%. Critically, independent testing confirms it does so without any compromise to flavor, texture, tenderness, or marbling grade. The climate impact is extraordinary: if fed to just 10% of cattle worldwide, the benefit would be equivalent to removing 50–100 million combustion-engine vehicles from the road.
